What Does it Mean to Work For PowerON?

We’re proud to employ some of the best people in the business, and work hard to ensure everyone at PowerON feels supported, can develop, and is part of the team.

Our Values

Our core values are quality, reward, responsibility, communication, learning and teamwork. We try to reflect these values in everything we do, to deliver the best for our employees and our clients. Joining us means working within these values, and enjoying the satisfaction of delivering the highest quality outcomes for our clients and colleagues.

Part of a Team

Employee participation and team spirit are central to the way we work, and we invest time in building relationships. We put our money where our mouth is – you’ll participate in monthly collaboration sessions with your industry expert colleagues.

Twice a year we bring the whole company together for a day of updates, team building and a bit of socialising. In the past, this has involved the Crystal Maze, crazy golf, raft building, axe throwing and more, but we try to find something new to do each time!

New starters feel welcome from day one – you’ll generally be welcomed with a plethora of gifs on Teams and offers of help. These are genuine; you can ask questions, build relationships, and become part of our warm and supportive team.

Our Culture

We have an inclusive culture, recruiting and promoting based on skills and the ability to do the job. Our focus is on understanding and supporting individuals, offering flexibility and trust, which means that exploring and identifying individual needs or specific reasonable adjustments comes naturally to us. Fundamentally, we really care and, whilst it’s not compulsory, we find that genuine friendships tend to develop between colleagues over time.

Training & Career Development

At PowerON, you will be encouraged to grow. Training is always available, and we prefer to develop talent from within wherever possible; all of our current management team have progressed from other roles within PowerON. From a day-to-day perspective, it’s not so much what you know as how you learn it.

We work in an ever-changing field which demands constant learning, so if you are curious, excited by learning, and eager to drive your own development forward as well as completing assigned training, you will love life at PowerON.

Our Benefits

We offer a great set of benefits, including 25 days holiday (increasing to 28 during your first few years with us), a pension scheme, a healthcare cash plan and a discount shopping portal.

We also make sure we look out for your mental health, providing an employee assistance programme with support on a wide range of topics and access to counselling, and access to our mental health first aiders in house.

We also review salaries every year, usually in October.

Our Office

We have an office just outside Escrick and if you’re local, we encourage you to use it a couple of days a week, ideally spending time with your team and getting to know other colleagues.

The office is open every day, and you can spend more time there if that’s important to you. However, remote working is embedded into our culture, and we have the technology and working practices in place to allow you to do the job to the best of your ability wherever you are.

Why Are We Here?

Why are we all here? Well, PowerON delivers IT management services that help public, private, and non-profit sector organisations fulfil their core functions.

This might be upgrading an NHS organisation’s IT estate to the latest version of Windows to keep their laptops and PCs secure and functioning, and enable teams to work more effectively; rolling out mobile device management to allow a government department with limited IT access in field-based roles to have full access; implementing Always On VPN for a large corporate at very short notice to allow their employees to work from home effectively during the pandemic; configuring the management of an AR (augmented reality) solution that allows effective remote support of manufacturing processes; and more.

Our work has real-life impact, and it’s different every day – that’s what keeps it exciting!
