Tripadvisor | Enablement Support

We’ve worked with the team at Tripadvisor on a previous project and I was delighted to be working with them again – they have some unique challenges given the global nature of their business and it’s great to support them on these projects.

Tripadvisor, the world’s largest travel platform, helps over 400 million travellers each month make every trip their best trip. Travelers across the globe use the Tripadvisor site and app, available in 49 markets and 28 languages.

The Challenge

Tripadvisor had worked with us to implement a Windows 10 upgrade across their entire IT estate, allowing them to apply updates across their device estate with minimal disruption to daily operations. 

Following this, they realised that they urgently needed consultancy support for their Windows 10 updates, to help the team with any issues or projects as they arose and provide ad hoc support. 

Tripadvisor employs just under 5,000 users globally, so managing, updating, and maintaining their IT estate without impacting productivity can be difficult and complex.

The Solution

Our consultants worked on-site alongside the IT teams at TripAdvisor to install a new ConfigMgr, migrate clients and configuration to the new environment, and create in-place upgrade task sequences to support the Windows 10 upgrade in 10 different languages. 

A Cloud Management Gateway (CMG) was installed to allow for enhanced remote worker support and provide another option for task sequence deployment. 

The quick turnaround times and effective collaboration between both teams helped ensure that a successful solution was put in place, whilst ensuring the end-user experience remained high.

Thanks to the help provided by our enablement support service, the team at TripAdvisor were in a position to efficiently and confidently implement Windows 10 upgrades, application patching and system upgrades globally, without any impact on daily operations for employees. 

Through our previous projects together, Tripadvisor knew that working with us meant quick turnaround times and access to great consultants (special mention went to our consultants Ricky Patel and Arran Lamb for their impressive work!). 

Thanks to the flexible nature of our support services Tripadvisor continue to work with our enablement support team for ad hoc projects.

Since signing up for our enablement support just over a year ago (November 2019) Tripadvisor has used the service for a number of mini projects, including most recently Autopilot Hybrid Domain Join and BitLocker support.
